Our Creator God Deserves Our Praise
Dan Koop
Spring and fall are my favourite seasons, one of the reasons being the beautiful colours of nature. Such a variety of flowers and shrubs bloom in spring. Hillsides are covered with a mat of flowers, putting on a breathtaking show. Sometimes just a short walk may take us to a place where we can pick a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Here in Morden, where I live, the streets are lined with flowering ornamental plum and apple trees. Such an array of flowers reminds me of a Creator God! Just think, if our sin-cursed world is so beautiful, what must the Garden of Eden have been like!
Unfortunately, many people never seem to think about a Creator God; He is never thanked for all this beauty. The Gardener, with all His skill, is totally ignored. Jesus said, Think about how the lilies grow.not even Solomon in all of his glory was dressed like one of those flowers (Luke 12:27, The LifeLight).
Recently, as I was travelling in some hills, I saw another part of nature that I enjoy - a deer grazing on fresh, tender green grass; a couple of fawns prancing around and enjoying the warm sunlight and the gentle breeze; wild turkeys doing a mating dance.
As we take time to look around us, we see the marvels of spring; the sounds, smells, and the beauty are beyond compare. However, for some people, no matter how beautiful nature may be, how tranquil the scene, there is only loneliness in their hearts. All day they just feel the aches and pains in their limbs. Many people are discouraged and need someone to cheer them up. Maybe you can be that "someone." Are you prepared for this "God thing"? A kind word of encouragement and a How to Find God New Testament could mean the difference between heaven and hell for someone, or bring cheer instead
of pain. Be sure to have an assortment of Scriptures with you so you can cheer someone along life's way.
As we enjoy fishing, golfing, camping, hiking, and many other summer activities, let's not forget our God, who made all these things for us to enjoy. Maybe we need to ask God to not only renew our interest in His creation but also to give us a new desire to enjoy His Word. The summer months are great opportunities to give praise to God, to use a flower as an object lesson, to make a statement of our faith in God. Have a New Testament with you, perhaps one of the brightly coloured sports ones from LifeLight Ministries, and get another person interested in our God.
Opportunity to Bless
A little more than two years ago, LifeLight Ministries had 20,000 copies of The LifeLight printed. They are almost gone, and we will need to order more shortly, at a cost of approximately $80,000. Here is an opportunity for you to help.
The LifeLight is a New Testament, with Psalms and Proverbs, written in the easy-to-read New International Readers Version. It is especially appropriate for children's ministries, ministries geared to the unchurched and people for whom English is not their first language.
Ready for Camp?
Will you need Bibles for your camping program this summer? Don't wait till the last minute to order them! It may take up to three weeks for an order to arrive here, so to avoid disappointment, make sure you get your orders in well ahead of time!

Here are some of the comments we have received from camp workers who have
used Bibles from LifeLight Ministries:
One boy got his new Bible and started reading right away, starting at the
beginning. By evening he was reading the story of Moses to all the kids in
his cabin. And the best part of it was that he was excited about what he was reading and getting the other campers excited as well! The counsellor gave Billy a copy of How to Find God. Billy was thrilled and very proud of his Bible.
Throughout the week, more and more campers were found in their bunks in the evening reading their new Bibles. One camper was given a Graphic Bible on Wednesday, and he carried it with him for the rest of the week, wherever he went.
When we brought out the Bibles and told the youth that they were each going to receive one, they rushed to the box and started frantically trying to get at them. Imagine youth that excited about getting a free Bible!
What a joy to see the campers' faces light up when they realized they could keep the Scriptures that had been given to them! For the first time this summer, I saw kids in many cabins asking (and getting) permission to stay up just a bit later so they could read from their new Bibles - by flashlight!
